In Reach a Rise of Egrets by Beth Learn Xerox photocomposite [1994]; orig. abt. 14"x20"; digitized 1998, with sheet lens The picture exists as a series of layers or overlays: 1 - Enlarged color xerox of circuit board in Scientific American Magazine; Layer 2 - Pastel postcard of egrets rising from Florida hammock; Layers 3/4 - black/white xerox transparencies of data from Search for Life on Mars (word genetics/evolution) and molecular diagnostic illustrations for same which, upsidedown resemble birds. Exhibited in the Search for Life on Mars exhibition at the A Space Gallery, Toronto, Ontario, 1995. Original is in the collection of Richard Preston.
