This barren snowscape with overturned quonset huts is really White Sands National Monument in a sandstorm. Those huts are wind sheltered picnic tables. The wind whipped up the gypsum sand and covered the asphalt area with whiteness. As a Canadian, my senses made me drive with ice and snow caution, even though the temperature was well above 90 degrees.
