This is the Mattie V. Auditorium at the center of the school across from the main entrance as it looked in 2003. Many a May Day Festival was celebrated with performances on this same stage. Joan Thomas' class production of Sleeping Beauty was performed on this stage. It appears that the room may now serve other purposes as well although there was a cafeteria to the right or north end of the auditorium at least at the time in the 1920-1950 period.
This is also the room where Mattie V. Rutherford lay in state while the students and teachers paid their final respects.
